SRK to shoot for Hirani’s movie from December?

It seems like Shah Rukh Khan will start shooting for Rajkumar Hirani’s next project from December 2007. The script of the movie is already complete and King Khan has seen and more or less approved it.

While on Hirani and his star of the unforgettable Munnabhai series, Sanjay Dutt, a section of the media has been spreading the rumour that Dutt is not happy with Hirani for casting SRK.

However, the truth of the matter is that it was Sanjay Dutt who had told Hirani to go ahead and start shooting with Shah Rukh Khan, as once and for all Dutt wants to get over with his legal battles, before he starts shooting for the next in the series, MUNNA BHAI CHALE AMERICA.

SRKs Double Trouble in Om Shanti Om

If the buzz doing the rounds in the industry is to be believed, Farah Khan’s eagerly awaited Om Shanti Om features Shah Rukh Khan in double role as Om and Om. Unlike his other double role in Duplicate he won’t be seen simultaneously on the screen in both the roles.

SRK first plays a junior artiste from the 1970s who’s bumped off by a jealous hero (Arjun Rampal). He’s then re-born as Om…While the theme of reincarnation and revenge is a direct tribute to Subhash Ghai’s Karz, there are several other passages in

Farah’s feisty homage/spoof that pay tribute to or are take-offs on Bollywood stalwarts especially at those who mattered in the ‘golden era’ of 1970s.

Apparently, none of the stalwarts has been spared from the stinging potshots.

One of the primary targets of satire is Manoj Kumar, the man who wrote and re-wrote a considerable amount of the grammar-and-glamour of commercial Hindi cinema.

Though potshots are taken at several other stalwarts, a source close to the film says. “It’s all in good faith! There’s no malice intended in the satire. And Shah Rukh and Farah are counting on the belief that people in the film industry have a sense of humour.”

Rakesh Roshan surprised everyone when he announced that his next film Krazy 4 will be directed by his long-time associate, Raja Sen. This was to be Hrithik’s first film after his debut, Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai, in 2000 where he wouldn’t star in father Rakesh Roshan’s production. However, that has changed as Hrithik will now be doing a special item number in the film.

A source says, “Rakesh Roshan is planning a lavish song for Krazy 4 which stars Arshad Warsi, Irfan Khan, Rajpal Yadav and Juhi Chawla among others. The song will be shot on a huge set as it will be Hrithik’s first real item number and that too in his father’s film.”

Hrithik has never agreed to appear solely for a song before in any film. Going by his dancing abilities, a long thought process has gone into signing a choreographer for the song. The music will (but obviously) be composed by uncle Rajesh Roshan. Hrithik is also pretty keen on the song as he will be very comfortable dancing for his home production. The film will go on the floors from June 24.”

The film was launched on May 14 with a song recording with Sunidhi Chauhan. Though Rakesh Roshan says, “Nothing has been finalised as of now.”
